Welcome to Loaded Gunn Racing
About
Loaded Gunn Racing are able to offer the Club or Historic Racer a complete service for their car including Rebuilding, Preparation, Repair, Fabrication, Testing and Running at race meetings.
We currently run a Gunn Sports 2000 Duratec, a Crossle Sports 2000
Pinto and an Historic Group 6 Chevron B19 BDG. Shortly we shall
add an FIA Lotus Cortina to our stable.
We are specialists in setting up Single Seater and Sports Racing
cars and attending tests to improve performance of both the cars
and the drivers with Gary as engineer and Jonathan as an ARDS instructor.
Season Success - 2009
The 2009 season was one of the most successful for Loaded Gunn with a Gunn TS6 driven superbly by Mike Jenvey winning the Sports2000 Duratec Championship taking six victories and setting many new lap records. It is true to say that Mike has raised the bar in the Duratec category.
In the Duratec Derek Bell Trophy class (for drivers over 50) the winner was driving a Lola converted to Duratec by Loaded Gunn and Gunns finished second, third and fifth.
In Pintos Jonathan won the Historic Class Championship in his 1980 Crossle for the third time also picking up the Derek Bell Trophy and was second in the Historic stand alone mini-series.
Successful one off drives for Jonathan (Derek Bell Class win and sixth overall at Silverstone GP) and Paul Streat (seventh at the Formula Ford Festival round fist time in a Duratec car) in the recently acquired TS11 rounded of a great season adding to our string of race and class wins.
Season Success - 2010
The new TS10 project has become the TS11 race car ready for the 2010 season. Long time Loaded Gunn supporter and ex-British Champion karter, Neil Burroughs has asked to drive the car and he made his debut at the first round at Snetterton on 25th April.
With the new March driven by last year’s champion (in a TS6), Mike Jenvey also making its debut and the much developed MCR in the hands of Patrick Sherrington we knew we had our work cut out.
Actually, Neil put the car on pole, won the race by 26 seconds and set the fastest lap so we were all thrilled and relieved after all the work over the winter.
For sure our opponents will be doubling their efforts but we also have some ideas so it could be a classic season.

History
Gary Gunn built his first car to race around the beaches near Morcombe when he was thirteen. He learnt how to make things from a neighbour called Tommy Shaw and now all Gunn cars bear the prefix TS as a tribute to Tommy’s early guidance.
Gary went on to build cars for grass track racing and eventually
circuit racing whilst pursuing a career in graphic design. He was
constantly asked by other competitors to repair or modify their
cars so he eventually went full time as Gunn Racing. His ambition
to create his own car was fulfilled with a Vauxhall Supersports
Gunn campaigned successfully on a shoe string budget with Niel Burroughs
behind the wheel. Sadly the money ran out.
Gary and Jonathan Loader had known each other for some time through
Sports2000 racing and Gary prepared Jonathan’s Tiga for the 2000
season where they won the class championship. They went on to win
all three class championships over the following seasons in the
Tiga, a Lola and a Crossle.

Christmas 2001 a plan was hatched to convert the Supersports Gunn
to the new Sports2000 Duratec specification and hopefully to sell
new cars. This required a more professional approach to the business
and Loaded Gunn Racing was set up to carry out the work. The converted
car was completed the night before its first race at Castle Combe
and won on its debut.
Six further cars have been built and sold ranging from TS6 to TS9. TS11 is due to break cover for 2010. Loaded Gunn has also carried out the majority of conversions of Pinto cars to Duratec power and specification including Lolas, Swifts and a Royale
During this period Loaded Gunn has produced four further new cars
for customers as well as repairing and modifying many race cars,
mostly historics. We carry out fabrication work for other marques
and are becoming involved in the rally scene.
