The horses are getting fitter ready for their winter return in October. Frankie Ballou is going very well having come back from his holiday twice the size he was when turned out in April. Last season he arrived from Ireland as a nervy type at the races – so this is a positive sign of a relaxed horse. I’m sure he will find things go his way this year. Another new recruit is a 5yo dual purpose horse called Brotherly Company who has won over hurdles and the flat in good company. He was bought as a Saturday horse who will have a few races before the ground goes too soft. He is an active athletic sort to ride with plenty of toe for the jumping field so the owners and I are excited for his future.
